New shoes and a big jump in size o_o

I just came back from Sports Authority and I still find it very weird. Here's how it all went down...

My dad and I went to the store after I commented on my heel hurting for the past few months. We started out looking at Size 6 shoes (I was completely oblivious that my shoe size was 6 at that moment). An employee was also helping us out and measured my feet. Apparently, my size was a 9. And then he saw my shoe was a 6.

So we grabbed my shoes and left but I'm surprised I grew that much over about 5 months or so from wearing my previous pair.
