I am getting a PS3 slim for Christmas. Mostly because my dad started to collect blu-rays, and I just love Sony in general.

Who knows, maybe some godly thing will come out soon and you'll be happy you have the money for it.

Or spend it it on things that cost less but give fun/help.

One reason I love PS3 is, because you don't have to pay to get online. And the games on PS3 are amazing.

I don't play online at all because console community is just bunch of stupid kids discussing snakees. Trial was more than enough for me. So if you MUST play online at any costs without paying, get PS3.
But it really depends which consoles exclusives you like more, as multiplatform games are pretty much the same on all consoles.

1. You get Kinect, which requires NO controller, only a camera thing, which also includes Kinect fit.
2. better games than ps3 (halo reach :D)
3. easier to use (if you ask me)
