Author Topic: Helping someone start on Blockland; Recommendations?  (Read 2746 times)

I've got a couple of freshmen at my school who saw me playing blockland and were pretty interested by it. I've been giving them tips to start up on BL, but I feel that I don't have enough. Here's what I've got so far.

    • Tier+tactical are probably the only weapons you'll ever need.
    • Do not post on the forums until you've got a good understanding of what the community is like.
    • ALWAYS start your build on a baseplate.
    • IF you have two bricks and you can replace them with one larger brick, do it.
    • Respect server rules.
    • Dotn tal liec dis
    • If someone comes in and says your build is terrible, ignore it. You'll become a greater builder over time.
    • A datablock is not a brick with events on it, they're for Add-Ons.

    Suggestions?

Run.

No.
I suggest you let them build something like a house first. Then critisize on what they did wrong , et cetera.
Help them progress.

Dotn tal liec dis

And incourage them to build stuff.

Not gonna add those, they seem like common sense, at least to me.

Add the grammar one. You don't want them ending up like total internet idiots.

1337sp33k isn't cool anym0r , br0

see how i got better was by building a house and then making improvements like adding furniture and a garage and maybe a second story thats how i got better at building on my first time building

• Dont use props because they spam
the console.

• Dont download too many addons, just keep
some that you like and are useful to you.

Don't visit free admin servers

try showing them events :D

Tier + Tactical isn't needed. Please, no.

Practice building for a while in single player and lurk the forums. Show them some coolbro members that could be a "role model" for them.

i can show them eventing :D

Okay, added what I found useful.

Tier+tactical is in there because it has probably EVERY weapon you'll ever actually use. I'm not saying you need to have it enabled at all times.
