I forgot to take notes on this today... Can anyone help?

It's Solving Two-Step and Multi-Step Equations

Ex. 1) 3(x-4)=48

Would it look like this:

3 (x-4)=48 (Distributive Property)

-9/-9x=48/-9

      x=39

Did I do it right? Tell me if you even understand this.

Maybe you should confront your teacher tomorrow and tell them you didn't understand it.

Also x is 20.

3(x-4)=48
times everything in parenthesis by 3
3x-12=48
add 12 to both sides
3x=60
divide 60 by 3
x=20

It would be
3x-12=48 (x*3 and -4*3)
Then 3x=60 (You're esscentially adding 12 to 48)
And finaly x=20 (60/3)

I have never seen A.R.C this serious.

the answer is obviously fish.
come on guys.

i'm an english teacher, so i don't have to deal with this. yay.

Okay, thank you! What happens if it's on opposite sides i.e 48=3(x-4)?
Do I still do the same thing?
