Author Topic: Overclocking a 3.2GHz quad.  (Read 2027 times)

Is there any need to overclock a 3.2GHz quad core processor for gaming reasons? My friend and I are arguing about this.

don't do it! your computer will ASPLODE

Overclock your video card.

There is no need to overclock that fast of a processor. It'll loving explode. :/
If you want more speed just get a six core.
Also most games only read three cores so a quad core is pretty much all you need. :/

Overclock everything while placing your balls on your processor, post results on internet.

Get a six core and then run 2 games at once, with each game on a different set of cores :D

Why would you want to play 2 games at once?

Ehhhh. Just got a wrong image from that. Two Games One Gamer :cookieMonster:

Why would you want to play 2 games at once?
Touhou soundtrack with HL2 gameplay in a completely unnecessary fashion?

Back on topic please.

Fine den. Anyways don't overclock it. It's pointless. In fact, anything above 3ghz is pointless. You don't need more speed, you need more cores.

Someone said that overclocking was almost pointless.

I'm sure it is, on a Quad.
