Author Topic: My Cabin, a App! Image Heavy?  (Read 2130 times)

This is a A-Frame cabin, the first pic is a out side view, this is not my greatest build but the most suitable for the APP.

The next pic is about the lattice on the side.

This pic is the inside, the 3 floors, hard to see but I think you guys can manage.

Then there is the front, some "OK" Steps.

Yes there is more! My dock!

Here is a close up on the "Cleats"

Well, that's it. For my first build POSTED on the fourms. What do you guys think?

I thought it was going to be crappy from the first pic, ANd then i looked at the others. Amazing. Keep up the good work.

It's alright but its architecture makes no sense whatsoever. An entire wall made of glass would collapse on itself. Also the shape of it just seems weird.

Youve never seen a house with a wall of glass? THere are plenty of them. This would hold up.

Actually, that would only happen if the cabin happen to lean forward. The cabin is on a stable level therefore, it does not collapse with 3 walls supporting each other. Due to the fact that it's ramp on sides and flat on front and back it, those technically "hang" on the other two walls because the two ramp walls are the most stable wall in this build. Although, I personally wouldn't want a full glass wall. I would change all the glass, expect the bottom, to wood. Then add a glass window up top.

I rate about...
Creativity: 8/10: There are plentiful cabins out on the gallery, but this is a new design.
Quality: 7.5/10: I feel that the cabin could of been made a bit better and the dock could use a makeover.
Layout: 9/10: It's a really cool design. I love how it was executed.
Overall: 8.1/10

I'm not in a clan but this could suffice for a decent clan app.

Okay, I got your PM Kilser and I've made a decision.
Looking at this app, it definitely captures what Ascii Events aims for. The concept here is very interesting, and the design allows for a unique interior space which is awesome. The build quality is about average. The interior has been pulled off in my opinion, as it has a rustic wooden feeling, and you've successfully created different levels (which looks just awesome) with views out to the lakes. ^_^
Some areas of the build are a little let-down though. The exterior is somewhat average, and while the support blocks outside have a kind of cool engineering look about them, I dunno if they work. The grid around the bottom of the build isn't particularly desirable, but I commend you for not using a fence to block it off.

All in all, the colorset is suitable, the design is very unique and cool, and while in some areas the construction quality is off, I think its fair in saying you have a place in the clan. But only just. I think in time, with a bit of refinement, you might have a really nice building style going for you.

Accepted.

Nice! Great job, I love it! :cookie:

@keonesan Fail at trying to be smart?

And nice build

Inorite, despite the fact what he said isn't necessarily true, applying realistic architecture and physics theories to a game where characters have floating hands and jets that don't melt their shoes is somewhat misguided.

I thought the exact opposite. The first pic raised my expectations, until I saw the others. It's not horrible, but it's not great, either.

I like it.
It's got an interesting design, not one that I've seen re-created before on Blockland, but it works quite well. The design actually reminds me of the Knothole Glade buildings in Fable 1. I'm not sure if they were A-Framed, but, yours just reminded me of them.
Other than some furnishings, it's really quite nice.
Your Dock could have a bit more detail to it, but, it's not the main aspect of your building.

Also, would it be possible to see a picture from the inside?
I'm interested on how the levels work on the inside, in relation to each other.
I do like the building though, well done.
8/10 if I may.
