Author Topic: Die Alone - Chapter 3 Released [9/24/10]  (Read 1684 times)

Anyways this storyline is based off my DooM 2 mod series. I hope you enjoy it!

Oh and here's the mod I made that I was talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOnJaSuD1Yo

Chapter 1

Present Time - Station 17

"So, have they found his body yet?" questions the marine as he continues to guidde me through the network of corridors. We walk in silence for a while then I finally respond, "My brother? Nah, they found all his teammates but he's still MIA. They're starting to think that he's dead but I doubt it. He's one tough bastard to kill. Anyways I didn't catch your name." The marine looks over his shoulder and introduces himself, "The name's Riley. And if you don't mind me asking, what was it like during the Phobos War?" My eyes close from the bad memories that come surging back, "You mean other than being shot at every five seconds? Yeah, it was a loving walk in the park." Riley takes a step back as he lifts his arms and apologizes, "Forget I asked. Anyways we're almost to the airlock."

We enter the vast chamber and Riley walks up to the console and begins to operate it. I examine the airlock and notice that it's entirely made out of a reflective metal. Riley finally activates the console and speaks into it, "We're ready, start the procedure." Almost immediately after his command, the room begins to flood, "Don't worry, the water will only come up to our knees then drain. It's a small flooding just to release water pressure." Within a minute the water begins to exceed the height of our knees. "That's enough, drain the airlock." Riley demands but there seems to be no response, "Do you hear me? God dammit I said drain the airlock!" Riley turns to me as he begins to panic, "Something's not right! We have to get out of here; I'll try this door, you get the other." We begin to attempt to pry the air tight, vertical doors but we soon realize it's futile. Soon, we find ourselves pounding on the doors and screaming for help and within a mere minutes we're caugh underwater.

I glance over to Riley and see that he has already drifted into a state of unconsciousness. My strength dwindles away and I slowly fade from reality. Suddenly the wall cracks from the pressure. What, the wall cracked? Of course, a one way window! I swim over to Riley and I retrive his M9 from his holster. I poise the gun towards the cracked area and I begin to empty the clip until the window finally shatters. In a heartbeat, I feel a force on my back and I'm sent flying into a control room followed by Riley and a wave of water. Once the water settles I turn over to Riley, "Holy stuff! I can't believe we made it-" My laughter is soon replaced with panic as I realize that Riley isn't breathing.

7 Years Earlier - The Phobos Wars

"Cyberdemon!" a marine calls out just before he explodes into a bloodbath of gore. "Where the hell is the rocket launcher!?" our sargaent screams as he comes storming through the trenches, "That cyberdemon ain't gonna kill itself!" I stand up and I jog towards my sargeant while carrying a rocket launcher, "Right here sir!" Sarg then takes the rocket launcher and with a roostery tone to his voice he says, "Alright boys! Let me show you how it's done! Remember, cyberdemons shoot three rockets in a row! Count to three, break cover, then blast the bastard to hell. Watch and learn!" Sarg then peaks over the trenches and rockets begin to hurl towards us as Sarg quickly responds by ducking back down, "One... Three... Okay, take this ya bastard!" Sarg is launched back into the trench as soon as he came out, well at least half of him. Sarg never was good at counting.

"Two!" I scream out as I grab the rocket launcher from Sarg's body. I then launch a perfecly placed rocket into the cyberdemon's head as it comes crashing the ground, crying out in agony. The other monsters begin to retreat after the fall of the cyberdemon. "That's odd," I remark, "they never retreat, espicially from us." Then as if I had jinxed us we hear the sound of a scream that can only belong to one thing. "Oh shi-" is all I can get out before the Spider Master Mind unleashes it's fury of chaingun ammo upon us.

Chapter 3

Present Time - Station 17

"One... Two... Three...", I count as I try to resuscitate Riley with CPR. I reach to the 60th cycle of cpr and realize it's futile. "Sorry kid." I say as I remove his helment and guide my hand over his face so he can rest his eyes. Out of pure rage I retrive the spare clips from Riley's corpse and I load a new clip into a M9 which results in a satisfying click that tells me I can shoot. "This wasn't a malfucntion," I murmur to myself as I scan the empty control room, "Someone is trying to kill me..."

My eyes scan the control panel to the exit door as I stare in confusion. I knew I shouldn't have slept during tech classes. "forget it." I confirm as I shoot the console and the door responds by sliding open. The room behind the door is lit by a dim red light with large, noisy fuel pumps moving in a vertical motion. Finally I notice a injured man on the floor of the hallway. The dying technician spots me and sputters out, "Tha... Thank god there's someone still alive. You have to... You have to stop the fueling process. Remember, shut the IE field down, the fuel pumps, then the fuel lines. You'll have to enter a mag... A magnetic field, it'll hurt like hell but you have to do it... Take my shotgun... The elevator... Watch out for the ele-" Great... That's already two people I've gotten killed today. When will the list ever end? I retrive his shotgun and grimmace as the blood sticks to my hands. I then sprint over to the elevator and I elbow the call button. "Watch out for the elevator," I suddenly remember, but it's already too late. The doors slide ajar and there stands a Hell Knight.

Within a matter of seconds the Hell Knight is holding me by the neck as I try to pump the shotgun in my right hand. I finally get gravity to load the gun and I raise the gun into the demon's jaw. "Suck on this you forgeter!" I choke out as I pull the trigger. Half of its head is blown into pieces and I'm dropped onto the ground. Now it's really pissed. Before I can get another shot at him he rushes towards me and pins me up against a cage that protects a fuel pump. Once I begin to hear the cage creak I begin to panic. My left hand somehow finds it's way to my holster and I bring up my M9 to get another shot at it's head. "forget you!" I scream as I cough of blood onto its face. Another bullet rips through its head and the cage gives away. The Hell Knight then slowly falls into the fuel pump as it screams in pain.

Still thinking....

Might want to re-read. I did some ninja edits to fix some typos.

Oh ok.

Why so many threads? Just make one for gods sake.

Your mod looks excellent.

Why so many threads? Just make one for gods sake.

Sorry bout that. I abandoned the other two stories because I didn't like either of the topics. I'm pretty sure I'll stick with this though since I've always enjoyed the storyline to my mod series. Too bad only one out of 5 mods actually were released. I should really finish them.

Your mod looks excellent.

Why thank you but I'm aiming for feedback on the storyline not the mod itself.

I said nice and rated 4/5!

Thanks but can you go more in depth with your review? Such as why I lost a point?

Becuase the mod was not realeased. :D
