I hope I can :O

I'm going to to ahead and say that it isn't legit, but that's just my guess. Also,

Swiss doctors reported a case of a boy who bought a 150 mW laser, sold as a "laser pointer," which left him temporarily blind in one eye, and with 20/50 vision in the other eye, after he shined it in a mirror. The boy's vision eventually returned to near-normal. The doctors said that any laser powerful enough to burn holes in paper, light matches or pop balloons are dangerous and could cause immediate blindness.
I don't imagine you plan to look at your laser at all without losing your vision, do you?

Umm, I have welding goggles, that will work and once I know if it is safe I will decide whether or not to always wear them

I do believe they have goggles for lasers that would be harmful to your vision.

You need specific glasses for you're laser pointers color (nanowidth) and power output (miliwatts), any old pair of sun glasses or won't do stuff.

While it's possible, I would have a hard time believing that anything more than 200mw could fit in that.

But if you get a 500mw laser without any protective gear, you'll end up blinding yourself. I have both red and green lasers in 5mw 30mw 80mw 100mw and 150mw powers.

Okay how about 300 mW  ?

You can look at it, just not point it directly in your eye. hurrr

Okay how about 300 mW  ?
If you've never had a serious laser before ~>25mw then I'd suggest starting with a 100-150mw one. 125mw can pop a black balloon from up to four feet away, by the way.
