Space Colonies yo
Story December 21, 2012: An unknown device detonates in the bering strait, generating a powerful EMP blast which knocks out communications in Russian and US military bases in the Kamchatka and Alaska. Ten hours later, both sides declare war on each other.
June 4, 2013: WIth both the Russian Federation and United States decimated, the European Union helps negotiate a peace treaty between the two factions.
August 8, 2013: A science vessel looking for the source of the detonation on earth is mysteriously destroyed. Further investigation reveals that the ship’s hull was turned into a sodium-based explosive via an unknown energy.
June 4, 2014: The United States, Canada, and Mexico form the Western Hemisphere Conglomerate. The Russian Federation, People’s republic of China, and most southeast Asian nations follow suit with the Eastern Coalition of Nations.
December 17, 2015: An alien device, presumed to be responsible for the EMP blast, rises from the Northern Pacific ocean and gives humanity an ultimatum: leave by 2025 or be wiped out. To assist in the mass exodus, the device provides plans for a colony fleet to relocate humanity to the Gliese 581 system.
January 31, 2016: The WHC and ECN, using weaponry reverse-engineered from the FTL drive designs, attempt to destroy the alien probe. The entire assault force is subsequently destroyed. However, the governments of both nations tell the public that the device was destroyed, and that the bering strait is now a quarantine zone. In secret, both governments begin construction of the exodus fleet.
August 5, 2020: Due to defunding, project cancellations, and other speed bumps, the first colony ship is completed.
June 21, 2021: Second ship is completed.
September 11, 2024: Third ship is completed.
December 31, 2024: The Alien device returns from its dormancy and begins to ascend into the upper atmosphere. World governments transport people selected as colonists to the ships and give an order to launch. All three launch. 60 seconds after all the ships launch, the alien device emits an unknown form of radiation, frying the planet of sentient life. Unfortunately, the third colony ship is caught in the blast and loses half its passengers.
Uknown Date: Ship time logs are mysteriously wiped halfway through the voyage. The speculated last recorded date is March 3, 2053.
Twenty-five years later: The first of the colony ships lands on a planet dubbed Epsilon by its passengers. They set up the main base of human government and commence datekeeping via the new Galactic Standard Calendar. Two months later, the colony of Agria is formed. Being on a very lush planet, Agria becomes the main agriculture production planet. Finally, one month later, the last ship lands on Moria. The remainder of the occupants on board signal for assistance from Epsilon and Agria. They manage to eke out a living on the surface, and find that Moria is very rich in minerals and gas.
The general idea.There are three planets, Epsilon, Agria, and Moria. Epsilon, being the capital world, is heavily urbanized, and there are few jobs based there. Agria, being the spawn world, is mostly agriculture, with some light mining and a couple of towns. Moria, the farthest world, is all mining, with a twist. Just to clarify, vehicles are not to be flown within planets, unless you're a pirate or merc. Everyone else has to dock at the orbital space stations.
HOW IT WORKS
This RPG is designed so that everyone's job supports the other. For example, the farmers harvest the food and then ship it to Epsilon and Moria, who in turn provide minerals for construction, gas for vehicles, and soldiers for defense against pirates.
JOBES
This is what I currently have for jobs. Jobs with a * have to be applied for and approved by an admin.
- Farmer: Farms food and lives peacefully. All farmers are paid equally every time a transport lifts off on Agria.
- Miner: Mines minerals and gas. On agria, there is a system similar to the farming system. On Moria, there is a market where you can sell minerals and gas on your own for a much different (individual) income.
- Pilot*: Flies player transports between the planets, can be contracted for jobs on orbital stations.
- Merc*: Defends colonies from pirate attacks and makes sure they deliver their goods. Must pass an aptitude test on Epsilon.
- Pirate*: Beat up colonists and steal their stuff for points. IRC an admin or Steam message them for this job, because the idea is that pirates are not publicly known.
- Planetary Governor*: The face of the human government on every planet. Only for when the server is mostly full.
RESORCES

In order from left to right: Vessnake Gas, Standard mineral field, high yield mineral field, Uranium.
VESsnake GAS: This is the fuel for all vehicles. Without this, pilots and mercs would be out of luck. Every tank of gas harvested counts for ten units.
MINERALS: Build stuff with this. 5 Minerals a brick, and minerals are expensive. Blue minerals deliver 3 units a succesful hit, high yield deliver 6.
URANIUM: This is used to power generators on each planet to keep the power on.
