Why can't we just go back to a time where if someone's selling something bootleg they get jailed? Not corral the entire internet into a cage.

Why can't we just go back to a time where if someone's selling something bootleg they get jailed?

Because that has proven to not work with modern technology, so Congress is basically saying "WELL forget THIS LETS JUST DESTROY THE INTERNET PIECE BY PIECE HOW 'BOUT THAT"

I want to go all the way to the Whitehouse and scream.

I want to go all the way to the Whitehouse and scream.
Congress doesn't meet in the White House.

Congress doesn't meet in the White House.
Well, whatever is breathing inside that building.

Unless you tell me where congress lives.

This is exactly why Google will not be shut down.

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google
Google runs over one million servers in data centers around the world, and processes over one billion search requests and twenty petabytes of user-generated data every day. Google's rapid growth since its incorporation has triggered a chain of products, acquisitions and partnerships beyond the company's core search engine. The company offers online productivity software, such as its Gmail e-mail software, and social networking tools, including Orkut and, more recently, Google Buzz. Google's products extend to the desktop as well, with applications such as the web browser Google Chrome, the Picasa photo organization and editing software, and the Google Talk instant messaging application. Notably, Google leads the development of the Android mobile phone operating system, used on a number of phones such as the Nexus One and Motorola Droid. Because of its popularity and numerous products, Alexa lists Google as the Internet's most visited website. Google is also Fortune Magazine's fourth best place to work, and BrandZ's most powerful brand in the world. The dominant market position of Google's services has led to criticism of the company over issues including privacy, copyright, and censorship.

Well, whatever is breathing inside that building.

Unless you tell me where congress lives.

Uh, the Capitol Building?

Tom

All it would take is for them to add google.com to the blacksit. But if they did (they probably wouldn't) I don't think that would bring google down.

Makes me even more proud of myself for planning to be an ex patriot before I turn 25.

What does Obama have to do with it? :o
The president is the one who signs treaties.
