Author Topic: Any suggestions for a graphics card?  (Read 1000 times)

Ok, basically I built a computer on Dell.com, and I am wondering not only if this is a good computer, but if I should replace that graphics card. What should I replace it with? Would I be able to play New Vegas with a decent frame rate? $200 or less please.

Replace it with a Nvidia 8600.

Sorry. i fixed it.

Okay. This may be a longshot, but with a good card, will this be able to play games like GTA4 and Black  Ops?

Then why do you need a new graphics card? You have nothing.

Well, I have a birthday coming up, and I forgot to put a price range.

I just looked at the graphics card. Dont buy a new one till you find out how the graphics card works. If its stuff. Buy a new one.

Okay, since I know nothing about graphics cards, how good is the one you posted?

I've heard that Dells are a pain in the ass to upgrade power supplies, if that's true you're not going to be able to upgrade to anything much more power consuming than what you have.

If you absolutely must have a prebuilt (building your own isn't hard) take a look at a few companies more oriented to gamers.

Like?

Try a GTX 460, 470, or 480. If that doesn't work out, or is too expensive, go get a GTS 250.

GTX 460 looks good for my price, but will my computer's power supply be able to handle it?
