Depends on what style you are trying to convey. It's hard to tell with just a box house. However, the one on the left can be pretty overused.

The one on the left, it's not as bland as the right roof, it's kinda curved from what I can see.

Why doesn't anybody use 1x2 flats for bricks?!? Oh and they're about the same. The house on the left needs grey bricks, not pitch-black. And the windows are ew, for both. You can see the brick lines and everything.

If I had to choose, It would be the left. But tops for square houses are easy. Try a "+" shape or an "L" shape for a house.
