Author Topic: Religious Knowledge Survey: Atheists and Agnostics Score the Highest  (Read 15724 times)

Religion is the boundary that keeps us from worshiping other human beings (Or animals). Thus causing society to crumble under it's own corrupt weight.
It's better having religion, and I don't mind people who don't really care if god exists.
I hate atheism because most people who follow it are arrogant, self righteous people who hate all who believe in god(s).

Summary:
Religion keeps us from corrupting our own societies by worshiping some giant dude who created everything that we see.
And most atheists are egotistical idiots who see religion as a horrible concept, and would like to throw priests into a bus, and send them to Ecuador, where they are launched on a rocket to the moon.
:/

Humans used to worship animals. Just as humans have worshiped each other. Religion is much older than just 2000 years, you know. :o

And religion can also be a major centering for corruption. It's all about how it is used. But yes, in many points in history, it has acted as a balance for our civilization on a whole and individually.

:O! There is a distinct line between Atheism and Anti-Theism, friend. Atheism is the lack of belief in God or the belief there is no God (to what degree it depends on them). Because there is no religious grounding, typically science would take it's place.

Anti-Theism, however, is basically the belief that religion should be cast away completely and often pulls along a deep anger towards religion on a whole. It's those whom have little to no tolerance towards Theism and sometimes it's followers - thus the name - to a point of prejudice. And while I have noticed that younger Atheists tend to be a bit egotistical, I think that is for other reasons connected to their beliefs, but not directly caused by it. And certainly not all of them are as such.

-snip-
Right, but yes, religion sometimes can corrupt a society as well, but it's more balanced than mortal 'gods'.

Atheism, and Anti-theism are almost the same thing, IMO.
But yes, Anti-theism is much, much worse than atheism.

Dear god (no implication intended), you are a complete idiot. Religion was created to explain what could not be explained at the time, and it was also created to create a degree of power over followers.

Guess which one I am.

No, sir, you are the idiot in this situation.
It was created to explain the unexplainable like you said, but as it was created for that, it also somewhat balanced society from a degree of corruption at some points , but as people grew more religious, some foolish rulers attempted to use religion to gain power as you said, and so corruption, and balance grew at an unbalanced pace, but everything balanced out in the end, even though there was, and are still religious corruption (Such as our government trying to mix religion, and government which is a horrible idea, and the crusades, satanists, sacrifices), nothing can be worse than Anti-theism, and some radical religions.

You are an Anti-theistic moron who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about except for a few good points here, and there.
You are one of the reasons we can't believe what we want in peace.
Oh, and if you don't believe in god, then why did you say "Dear god"?
Are you sure you don't believe in god in the slightest of ways?

Ok, let's go through this in easier organized chunks.

Ok, first one is done. That was easy. Here we go, next one.

Ok, so here we go.

I told myself as I first started bringing my radical thinking to the forum that I was only going to display facts, not stuff, straight facts. I have not done anything besides that since I began my so-called "crusade" here in Off-Topic. In every god damn religion topic I have posted in, I displayed some sort of factual, logical evidence to back up my opposition to what was being said. I may have had some fun on a few threads, but otherwise, factual information.

For your second little comment in this section of your rambling stuff post.

What are the other reasons? And do you check to make sure your sentences flow, at all? That was literally one of the choppiest rational thoughts I heard on any thread over the internet. Do you talk like that in real-life?
1. No, sir, you are the idiot in this situation.
2. (Such as our government trying to mix religion, and government which is a horrible idea, and the crusades, satanists, sacrifices), 4. nothing can be worse than Anti-theism, and some radical religions.
Ok, so that 2nd chunk was a little harder. But this nice paragraph type thing you got here will have to be addressed in smaller more manageable chunks.

1. I do not recall any situation... And plus too, we all know that you are a very irrational bull stuff type of person.
2. Yes, because the Catholic Church isn't corrupted at all. And religion has always been used as a power gauge in society, get over it.
3. Our government has been trying to split religion and state. Where the hell did you pull that out of your ass.
4. Yes, because nothing at all can be worse then anti-theism:

I'm going to invoke Poe's Law on goobler. I honestly can't tell with this guy.

I've missed you on this thread. :D

You have proven my point further, you're acting like you know everything, and that that's all facts, you're wrong, that post is full of opinion, and you know it.
Stop lying to yourself, and face the real facts.
1.What I meant by situation is the scenario, I'm sorry if you don't understand the concept.
2.It has corruption, I never said it didn't, and people have used religion to gain power, as you haven't fully read, and thought about my post.
3.Not these days, the government is now trying to join them, and use it to gain power, if you haven't noticed.
4.Anti-theism is when they're more violent, and want to kill all who wish to worship a religion.

I respect your opinions, but don't attempt to mix it with fact.

That city would be on fire, and have a giant statue of some Viking king in it.

87% first try, did not read the whole OP.

It's just that his posts follow literally every stereotype I can think of. From "obamar is moslem" to "if we came from monkeys why are there still monkeys????"

Then again, I suppose stereotypes exist for a reason.

Also, picture relevant to supposed "anti-theists":

And assuming goobler isn't some parodic genius, I have a question for you: if someone doesn't know about Christianity and therefore isn't a Christian, do they still go to hell?

If so, I don't see how that's a 'fair' or 'just' god.

And if not, what's the point in telling people about Jesus?

An Inuit hunter asked the local missionary priest:  "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"  "No," said the priest, "not if you did not know."  "Then why," asked the Inuit earnestly, "did you tell me?"

I feel sorry for you. I truly do.

I do not respect you at all, due to your paranoid, ignorant, stubborn personality. You think that you know the difference between fact and opinion, yet you can't bring your head far enough out of your ass to figure it out.

I hope you waste your days in a church, praying to your higher power while everyone else actually works toward the future of the human race.

@Inv3rted

According to the bible, it states that our goal is to spread the views of Christianity throughout the world before they die and go to hell, and thanks to innovations such as the Internet and News, and church missionaries, many people have already heard and now know the basics of our religion. The only people that really wouldn't know about it would be those people on a distant island that we have no idea of it's existence.

Satellites created the substantial evidence that would make the not knowing of an island's existence impossible.

It's believable, considering many of the world's geniuses are atheists.
