Coke is a brand name fyi.

"Hey Pop, can I have a pop?"

Ha ha. I live in part of the US that says "Coke"

I live where they call it "Coke". I call a soft drink by name unless speaking of soft drinks in general, for example: "What soda do you want?"
I wouldn't answer "soda" because that's not telling them anything but "soda". So, if I wanted a Mountain Dew, I would say "Mountain Dew". If I wanted a Dr. Pepper, I would say, "Dr. Pepper", ect.
Get the point? But I call soft drinks in general "soda".

Over here we call it 'Fizzy Drink'

But out of the two options, I choose 'Soda'

Soda is a type of bread hurr hurr

I personally call it Cola, rather than Soda, and I've never heard it called Pop, other than from, well, Americans.

I would use Cola in general, or Fizzy Drinks, or Soft Drinks.
Otherwise, I would refer to it by brand. I want a Coca-Cola or a Pepsi, or a 7Up or a Lilt, whatever I want.

But, to answer your question, I would have to choose Soda over Pop, as Pop sounds absolutely stupid.

nope
if that were the case MW2 and halo would be games of the year for an entire decade

that dont even make sense. halo and mw2 arnt on maps?
how do you compare that to this at all?

the only correct term, is "sodapop" that NOONE uses.
so otherwise, "pop" is in fact more commonly used, so it can be the correct term.
