people either don't take notice or just pretty much act normal

If you do that to an administrator or someone with high respect and/or power;
Your candor is viewed as suddenly important/stupid.

In other words: Most people on most sites are kiss-ups.  

Most of them are people that are afraid that speaking badly about them will get them banned or something

Badspot can be pretty childish like all of us, even be a troll. I remember one time I was on his server and I was talking to someone else and every time I said something such as "where were you yesterday?" Badspot would say "I was with your mom yesterday" and he basically just kept doing mom jokes of everything I said.
