in any image editing program. resize to 75x75 so it keeps it's alphas

if you let the forum resize it for you, it becomes a jpg or something that breaks the background

only a gif or png image can have trans backgrounds.
so you can to resize it yourself first.

if you allow the forum upload to resize, it creates a jpg out of it.
