Author Topic: Atheism + insane parents  (Read 1906 times)

I recently made the decision to be an atheist, I'm having a little trouble telling my parents though, as they are super-forgetin'-Christian. How should I tell them?

Well, why did you switch? If it's a dumb reason, then they'll probably get mad.

"I am an atheist."
"OMG Y DUNT U BEELEEV IN GAWD?!"

Walk in a room with them in and say
"I am an atheist."
then walk out.

Don't, there isn't any really reason to and it's likely they'll be displeased.

Next time they want to bring you to church, refuse to go. If they don't let you believe in your own belief then they are stupid preachy Christians.

And yes, reason please? If you are 11 and just decided to be one so you look cool, nope.

Yeah, I know. That's the point.

Why be an atheist? It makes you sound so negative.
Agnosticism is the way to go. Make the decision not to believe in anything, and not to care about what other people think.

God will always love and forgive you, no matter what you do.
