Author Topic: The Social Network(Spoilers I guess)  (Read 1475 times)

I just saw the Social Network and it was very good and I recommend you all see it, but I have the same complaint about this movie as I did the Informant. It was entirely composed by bad decisions by the characters and irritated me that they couldn't be rational and do things right. Also I'm pretty sure Mark Zuckerberg has asperger's syndrome
Discuss the movie.

I think Mark was trying too hard to be social, he's just not that type of guy, really.

What is the movie about?

So is the movie good?
Because I can't imagine a movie about a guy making a website is very interesting.

People get laid, do drugs, and Mark screws over his friends. It's very interesting. And can you not click the loving link in the OP?

So your complaint was that the movie perfectly depicted reality?

There were such simple moments in the movie and Mark just said,"forget anyone that cares about me." The movie literally ends showing he has no friends

What are these 'legal complications' it says he gets into?

Do you want me to summarize the movie so you can go see the movie and confirm I wasn't lying? Go see it

Too bad it's based on realistic events so you can't complain too much.

But yeah. Great movie.

What are these 'legal complications' it says he gets into?

Spoiler: People who created another social network for the students of Harvard hired the main character, and while he was supposed to be working on the Harvard one he was using some ideas and the general concept on Facebook. He also kept screwing the co-founder over.

It's like 10:43 at night on sunday, so I can't go out to see it, I don't go to movie theaters much anyway, so yeah, a summary would be nice.

edit:
Oh, thanks Caution.

It's quite fun looking at the future

1. No official diagnosis

Also the story is told in a series of flashbacks, almost. He's sitting in a law office debating with the creators of the one thing in the spoiler and his co-founder and he's explaining the situation and it shows what happens.
