Author Topic: Sound doesn't work D:  (Read 865 times)

Anyone able to help me? I'm pretty stupid, but basically when i plug my speakers into the back, the sound card picks it up, but no sound comes out of the speakers. I'm not sure if i have to download new drivers or what.
And i can see someone asking for this sooner or later:

If anyone could help i'd appreciate it.
I didn't post this in Help since help section is more based on Blockland.

Maybe the speakers are turned down?

Nope, I've checked them like 5 times now lol

Right click the sound volume icon on your task bar and click playback devices.

Post a screenshot of that instead. Dxdiag does not help very much with this sort of thing.

Maybe it's muted. You may have accidentally pressed the mute button on your keyboard

1. Go to your desktop.
2. Bottom right corner there should be your sound volume control thing.
3. Right click it.
4. Go to Playback Devices.
5. Go the section 'Playback'.
6. Right click somewhere in the blank space of that box.
7. Check both options.
8. If your speakers show up on the list right click them and click Enable.
9. Try them now.
10. ????
11. Profit.

See if that works. It might not, but there's a good chance it will.

Sorry. I meant recording. Not sound. Yes, I know this sounds stupid but once I tried a crappy speaker and it didn't work. It was in recording for some reason. Not that your speaker is crappy.

My computer regularly switches back to the sound card. I use a pair of USB headphones so I've got to change it by hand. Try disabling everything but the speakers (right click on the other devices).

Just tried it, didn't work.

Right click on your speakers, click advanced, go to the enhancements tab, and try unchecking all of them if there are any.
