Does anyone know of a easy, hopefully free program that I can use to take songs off of an Ipod that is stuck in recovery mode?

So I just got a brand new laptop and downloaded itunes 10. I plug my Ipod into the computer and boot up itunes. When it starts up it says that a ipod has been found in recovery mode and needs to be reformated. Now, stupid me did not put all my songs on a disk from my old laptop before I deleted everything from it and so I need to know if there is a easy hopefully free way to copy the songs from my ipod so I do not have to reformat and lose eveything....

You might have luck using a iPhone and iPod file browser.

http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/

Its completely free, works with new and old firmware, and doesn't require a jailbreak. Good luck.
