Author Topic: Server appears dead  (Read 559 times)

The ping on my server shows up as --- to others, and nobody else can connect. They can't even send punch packets or make any indication of attempting to connect on the server console. My ports are still forwarded. They can connect to other servers. What might be causing this?

It was fine last night - this morning, actually - and nothing has changed. Two of my friends can't get anyone to connect to their servers either.

Try restarting your router by unplugging it, then plugging it back in. Then restart your server. If that does not work, post your console log.

Already tried restarting computer and nothing unusual appears in the console. It's exactly as though it had nobody attempt to join it (besides myself).

Restart router, not computer.

This happened to me recently.

Go to your router configuration (192.168.[2/1].1 in your adress bar) and find the advanced settings, and make sure "Stealth mode" isn't turned on. When the router recovers from a power failure or unexpected shutdown most models set themselves into Stealth Mode as a safety protocol, which blocks ping completely.

Once it is off you should be able to ho host again.

Restarted router, and server is working again. hooray
