Author Topic: How the frack do i read the scripts?  (Read 943 times)

I open the .cs files in notepad, (At least, I beleive it is the cs file) but all that comes up is random garble that I cannot read. I can see a few things like "Black 50" and things like that, but I want to change the damage of a gun/firing rate, what am I doing wrong?

Open the cs in notepad. Thats the script. The Black50 was probably a .png used in the item you opened. If you want to understand it more, learn Torque scripting.

What was this file you opened?
Black50 is a default texture, sounds like a model file to me.

Model file? How da freak do I get to the script thing? I opened weapon_gun.

Weapon_Gun is a .zip file.
server.cs is the script file.

I think for reasons unknown you opened the folder in notepad.

Thats definatly not it. Heres what the .cs for the gun is.

...so I extract those files to a place (ex. my desktop?)

How do I get to the .cs for gun?

I perfer winzip. It has a free 30 day trial, but it still hasn't expired and ive had it for like 3 months. Anyways; get that and you will be able to open, create, and view zipped files. After you get it, open Weapon_Gun and there should be server.cs in it. server.cs and client.cs are the scripts for all weapons.

Oh damn, I just made a breakthrough! Thanks a bunch!

Always proud to help. If you need help editing the script, tell me.

I'm a bit confused on how to make the weapon show up in Blockland.

Did you keep all the files in the zip?
