Author Topic: Broken Picture Telephone - Revival  (Read 8405 times)

As I posted many months back, Broken Picture Telephone was killed due to administrative disinterest in repairing the site. I remembered it today and searched the name to see if anyone still talked about it, and right at the top was a link to the site. Finding it odd that Google would still list a dead domain, I clicked it...

As you can see, it seems the site is coming back! Does anyone here remember the site? Can someone get me information on this revival? I loved this site.

A Game that kept same

Hasbro recently released a game which works on basically the EXACT same premise. Here is their online demo of their game, it should portray the idea well:

Thats extremely complicated, but looks fun.

Ya, and just as another word description. You start out with a description. The next person must draw that description. Then the next person must describe the image, without being able to see anything before it. It cycles like this a few to a lot of times and ends up as something completely different.

Story: I remember one of the top saved games on Broken Picture Telephone. Almost the WHOLE game, which was like 25-50 different people working into it, it stayed on the subject of "Ring Ring Ring, Banana Phone." It was hilariously spectacular that so many random people could actually understand what the last person was going for to keep that subject the nearly whole game. Note that it actually ENDED in the subject even after it side tracked for about two people.

I forgot to mention that you only have 10 minutes to draw something. There were LITERAL ARTISTS ON THE SITE. As with Scribblish, most people drew little doodles to look like the description. But these artists made literal, and I'm being totally serious here, works of art from the descriptions. They were so amazing, it'd make your face melt. They'd make these in 10 minutes, and... damn... I miss those.

The sad part is, it's likely ALL the stuff from the old site was lost when the site originally went down. When it comes back, it'll likely be a clean slate. :panda:

And the site was built heavily with like... flash or something, so you couldn't even save these yourself unless you wanted screenshots... I'll look for old screenshots of it, actually. Add them to the topic post.

There's some images, including another game which kept to the same subject the whole time. :cookieMonster:

Sorry, but that's how the site has been for the last 6-7 months. Hasn't changed one bit.

The past few months, the domain didn't even exist... :panda:

Anyone can find new information on the site?

Sounds like a fun game

Didn't we have a thread like this before?
