My first rant: People who get banned and why you shouldn't whine about it.
A lot of "respected" people have been getting themselves banned. Many of you wonder why they got banned or think they got an unfair ban. Let me tell you there are no unfair bans.
A ban is supposed to let you learn from your actions. And if you're banned, it's your fault. No exceptions. You didn't follow the rules so you aren't allowed access to the forums. That sounds completely fair.
Another problem I have is how people make different accounts when they get themselves banned. You're not fixing anything. You're pouring salt in the wound. Most people who evade bans haven't changed. You just want back to the forums because you're restricted from it.
You didn't like your ban? Too bad. You deserved it and you know it.
My second rant: Every new user is not an alt.
You're not a hero by dubbing everybody an alt. Just because they have more braincells than your friends and family doesn't mean they've had a previous account here. What if they've been to other forums and know how they work? Then it would seem they fit right in, no?
Nobody honestly wants to join a forum community that doesn't want them for the sole fact that they joined. You're giving a bad name for the forums. Anybody can ignore insults, anybody can ignore stupidity. It's just that it's unbearable when you have six other people stalking your posts calling you a dirty liar.
Think that if they can't handle it they shouldn't be here? That's the problem. They shouldn't have to handle it. This forum isn't divided by who's the toughest. It's a forum for an online block building game. It should be simple enough for you to be able to discuss about the game or talk about other things in off topic, which takes me to my last rant.
My last rant: Off Topic isn't being used as a blog or is in no way of a blog.
Yes, that's right. Off Topic is a board meant for discussions that don't have to do with Blockland.
That means you can talk about your new family car or that new movie coming out. Or you can talk about personal stories. I don't recommend it. Not because it's not allowed, but because too many people have to tell you they don't like you posting what they think you shouldn't.
It's not up to you what should or shouldn't be posted there! That's the administrator's job, dang it! Normal users don't have an ounce of control over any discussions that aren't yours!
And that's my three rants. I just wanted to get them off my chest.
