My suggestion to learn to build is to do medieval housing.
They usually follow a very generic template, the first floor being brick and the second having a brown frame with tan-ish paneling with various overhanging colored roofs.
True they are generic, but because of how fast they are to build it lets you get the hang of how spatial proportions look good, how to make stairs feel right, a good size for doors/windows, and placement of such. It's great for practice and learning how to build in a way that feels more natural.
That is just my suggestion though, you don't have to listen to me.
