Author Topic: Bad news for me  (Read 2688 times)

My computer had a virus and it wouldn't let me use any anti-virus softwares. I took it to PC world and said that they had to delete all the files and completely restart the comp. I was a bit shocked of them deleting all my files but after that they said they could back-up all my files. I had no computer for 2 days, but finally, They phoned me up and said it was ready. All my files were in a Backup files folder but the only problem is, All of my downloaded games wouldn't work. There was only the shortcuts, not those folder like for BL it was "C:\Blockland\". It wasn't there D:. now I had to redownload a couple of stuff including Blockland. But all my add-ons were gone nuuuuu. Now I have to redownload ALL my add-ons and I had some epic lost add-ons that aren't available any more. I'm pooped.

Mine got too old and died, so i went two months without it, and finally after 2 more days i could re-download blockland, but we didnt have a backup file :(

So, everyone, back up your files frequently , who knows when you'll have to fall back on it.

unless you lost save files or something it's really not a big deal, chances are the "lost add ons" were no good anyhow

I have around a 750MB add-on folder and do not feel like backing up. I have my Key written down on a piece of paper though

I had a few save files that i never wanted to lose, I thought they would backup all the files (as they said) but they lied. I'm going to send evil bunnys that eat people brains to a PC world staff meeting.

Any add-on can just be recreated.

i would be upset about losing saves.
but addons, so what? re-download them.

there shouldn't even be more then a dozen must have ones for you anyways, you were likely one of those people with to many addons.

I laugh at how they had to clear the entire drive in order to remove it.
Idiots.

Same here my laptop broke. But my dad put all my addons somewhere or did something with them and when they fixed it he got them all back on. =D

I stopped relying on AV and reformatting because every virus I ever came across got through any AV I had and I found out how easy they are to get rid of without.

its good to reformat every 6 months anyways.
its alot to reinstall, with my must have programs and games.
but its a clean feeling you just cant upkeep day to day.

...it wouldn't let me use any anti-virus softwares...
It probably blacklisted the most popular ones. D:

Get AVG, Avast!, Nod32, and common sense, then suddenly your computer doesn't ever fail or suck; that and uninstalling programs you haven't used in 4,6,or 8 months is a good idea.

I reformat every year, keeping only my music and my Files folder, which I stuff things into now and again.
I also don't have antivirus software and never will.
You only get viruses if you are stupid.
