Try this:
While having the three rrod, turn on your xbox, and hold down the sync button. While still holding it down press the eject button. It should give you a number code (####).
Example: Holding down sync and pressing eject once gives me 1 rrod =1
Holding down sync and pressing eject again gives me 2 rrod =2
4 rrods =0

Write down each number and tell us it. You should have 4 numbers

It's a method to get an error code. You hold sync and press eject and the red lights will light up. The number of lights that glow represents a number.

4 lights = 0
1 light = 1
2 lights = 2
3 lights = 3

Hold sync and press eject, write down the number it corresponds to. Release eject and press it again for the second number, then release and press for the 3rd, then release and press for the 4th.

The 4 digit number you get is the error code.

Send me New Vegas and I'll see if the game is responsible

I feel like video games should be played with a controller, not a keyboard and mouse.

I like the feel much better.

I respect your opinion and all but I feel like a mouse & keyboard is much more responsive, and requires a tad more skill.

It depends on the game, you can't play Monster Hunter with a keyboard and mouse, that would be royally forgeted up.

Here's what I do.
Stick toothpicks in the fan, then turn your xbox on. When you get another ring, turn the xbox off, and it works.
temporarily.
(1 ring only)

WASD for movement
Shift to shield
Space to roll
Tab for items menu, scroll to go through them
Mouse for looking around and attacking, right click for any alternate combo attacks

?

Just get the new Xbox. It doesn't break.

Don't get the slim
Just don't.
I have it, and if you're looking to play Halo, you can't play certain gametypes :/

This reminds me of back then with my brand new Xbox, not Xbox 360. After 15 days, it crashed and burned. The Xbox recorded discs as broken, which they were not, and finally, it stopped working altogether.

Anyways, sorry about your Xbox 360.
