Author Topic: save your own bricks  (Read 1730 times)

i know only the ones on the ground are saved, the rest above just follow what's on the ground, but wouldn't it be possible to see what's above it in the save, then keep that, and delete the rest?
maybe have it save anything directly above

That's a dumb idea.
Not all bricks are going to be directly above the baseplate.
Someone else's bricks might be over yours.
And even then, it would only go by centers of the bricks, unless you can somehow get the dimensions of bricks from just their UI name.

i know, but it somewhat would work, as long as you build over a baseplate that's yours

if i needed to do this i'd save something then load it somewhere with ownership and delete every brick group that wasn't mine

Somewhat isn't good enough.

I refuse to make anything that doesn't work how it's supposed to.

This is saving your own bricks, not every brick above your ground bricks.

How do you plan on getting the size of the ground bricks anyways?

i'm not making it either, as it would be inefficient, and decently ineffective, although maybe a way to save a certain area? ie, a rectangle where you input 2 coordinates

Or just do this:

if i needed to do this i'd save something then load it somewhere in a passworded server with ownership and delete every brick group that wasn't mine

well yes, although i tend to just open a SP server

This addon is un-needed IMO. You could save ownership, go to a single player game, go to the admin menu and clear bricks that are not yours. Simple as that, right? This addon would only be simplifying the process by only saving your bricks. Something like this could be in a future version, but I don't see it working well as an addon.

Warrior...the whole idea of this addon is to prevent the whole tedium of disconnection, going to single and then reconnecting.
Very necessary for very spammed up servers where nice builds are saved with all the crap around them.
