How to make OGG files?

How to change a song(mp3) to and OGG file so you can play it on Retail?

Wrong Section, this is Mapping Help.

Download audacity here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Import the mp3.
Split the stereo track.
Delete half of it.
Covert the half leftover into a mono track.
Export to an .ogg file.

I use Nero Wave Editor to save my .OGGs

Make sure the file is loopable, otherwise it'll sound like crap when the game loops it.

Also, do not include a loop in the .OGG, no need to, the game will do it.

How do you make it mono?
I'm using Audacity but still unsure how to convert it to mono.

Yeah, I can't figure it out with what I have... All it keeps doing is saving it as a stereo, even if saving from a mono file/recording....

BS, how'd you do it?

Got it, tried asking, but didn't get me too far.

I just downloaded Audacity, Linkage: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

I do use Nero Wave Editor to edit my songs, so I'll start from there.

Once your song if edited, save as whatever format.

Open Audacity, select you whole track (Ctrl + A)

Got to Tracks > Stereo to Mono in the menu bar.

And save as an .ogg file, there you have it. A mono .ogg!

It doesn't have to be mono.  Just make sure it's 22050 kHz and 16 bit.

Is there any size limit? Like could I have a full song?

Yes, but I would NOT personally recommend it... Keep it small, keep it simple.

Yes thats impotent that you do that I joined Spation's server today and he had about a 10MB Song that I had to download (Which I didn't) so don't add Full songs just add parts where it repeats.

Basically just add like good awesome solo's that are in songs..and edit it so it fades in/out for it so its not bad.

What if its under 500kb and I dont delete it in half?

Did you mean?

If you did mean that, I think a full song is fine... but there could be copy right issues like Badspot said so I wouldn't say its a good idea.
