Yeah so I realized that Anisotropy is set to max by default which is probably slowing some people down.  I updated the download but you will probably want to move the "Anisotropy" slider under "Advanced" in the options dialog down to 0 for the best performance.

I have no idea what that is but im going to do what you said anyway

Heh, i was kind of wondering about that, not that i minded since i wanted it at max anyway.

Before I played I went in and set everything to maximum quality anyways. I didn't even notice. Doesn't AF make textures blend in the distance better or something? I can't remember but it's worth a few frames.

Yeah it definitely looks better and is worth it if you have the hardware, but for low end machines it can really eat frames.

On the subject of quality, are we ever going to see some anti-aliasing for BL?  :cookieMonster:

You shouldn't need a slider for anti aliasing or anisotropic filtering. Just go into your video card's control panel and tell it you want it. For me, I just right click the Ati icon on the taskbar, hover over the video card name, then over 3D Settings, then over Standard Settings, then click Optimal Quality. Doing so enables 4x FSAA and 16x anisotropic. ;)

Edit: I was wondering why the textures in the game looked so good and also why the fan on my video card kept getting so noisy. Not like the game ever lags though. :D

Here's me With 8x AA and 16x AF:

metrics(fps); in console. I've found it can mess with my scrollbar after I have it on for a while, so make sure to do metrics(); if you want the thing to go away. Also, some people might like to know that ctrl+n will give you netstats.

Yeah I did. But for taking pictures. Otherwise it's hard as hell to build without them.

:O

Thank you, now i put my video card on "Optimal Performance" instead :D

metrics(fps); did the trick. Running at optimal quality (4x antialiasing and 16x anisotropic) I get around 100 while aiming the camera at the demo blocks loaded in the bedroom scene. :D

ok y does it mess up when i make a single player game after clicking multiplayer game(strange demo glitch (resize start server gui)) man i wish i could buy retail which i could have unless my mom wouldnt have said u cant because it would still be on my computer
