I can understand how most people wouldn't like it. Basically because of too much potty humor. But allow me to explain. We were discouraged for potty humor in our childhood, and now we discourage it ourselves. We hate it because most authors use it as a quick jab to a funny bone to get a few yuks out of an unsuspecting victim. Here's the thing, the entire series of Captain Underpants is based around potty humor. They're not quick jabs, they're entire books. I hate potty humor myself but if you are going to use it to build a story and not as a cheap joke to sell your books to kids then that's pretty alright imo.
