That technically wasn't a war, it was a "conflict", but it is most commonly called a war.

The Vietnam war and Korean war were both wars, but they were called "police actions" and "conflicts" at the time so that the presidents didn't have to obey the constitution and get congress to actually declare war.

if you think its not a normal war iraq is in a civil war
