Author Topic: Donating my hair  (Read 1111 times)

Around march, I'm going to shave my awesome hair ( that none of you have seen, but it's nice hair) for cancer research and to make wigs for people with cancer. Doesn't it sound odd wearing a wig made of somebody else's hair?
Anyway, a friend told me about this "saint baldrick's day" and talked me into shaving most off most of my hair.

While that's nice, why can't people shave their own heads before they go into chemo and then make a wig out of that?

not as odd as wearing someone else's skin

That's what I did...I didn't feel like I helped dying cancerous folk afterwards though... :c

Lol altered

This is cool of you OP, I might do this too.

When it comes to things like these, e.g. making wigs out of REAL HAIR, I just think "what if we just wait a little, and then they will be able to make just as good fake wigs?"

That's very generous of you. I did the same thing last July. 'Twas quite a bundle. It feels nice, though. You'll really be helping some others. c:

I'm too far away from anything cool or near to do something cool because my father's father sneezed and his land landed (D'oho) in the middle of boringsville boringland in America

Because shaving your head cures people with cancer.

Oh right, IT BUILDS SELF-ESTEEM.

there are ways to avoid losing hair during the treatments. called cold caps.

also, how does giving hair help cancer? no one gives stuff to a cancer patient about being bald, its not really something of big concern.

If you actually listen to people who treat cancer the will tell you that a lot of surviving treatment is in your head, your morale, the wig is just part of that.

So you put the wig IN YOUR HEAD!?
