Author Topic: Authentication Key Question  (Read 937 times)

:cookie: Lol I got a cookie but anyway, can you get banned from blockland for using an authentication key with someone else?

Never mind, but if this is wrong correct me, i believe it is i just looked over some posts and it said Badspot would probably delete it. If I'm right please tell me.
     Sorry for double post...

Yes, but you're free to use it from place to place as long as it doesn't switch to Japan within 5 minutes.

You are not allowed to share it. The FAQ already discourages this because when someone signs on with your key it will kick you off, but the reality is that if it's obviously being shared it will be deactivated.

I thought you are allowed to share it ONLY with people in the same household as yourself?

It's because keys cost money, and sharing it is basically illegal.

It's like pirating the game.

Oh okay thanks because the help thing on blockland said nothing but you would get kicked off whenever another person came on. but that is it, thanks guys you really helped  :cookie: here is a cookie for you

Me and my friend have done that a few times, when hes come over and it worked.

Your auth key counts as your Username and Password,
giving it away is like giving your account away.

Me and my friend have done that a few times, when hes come over and it worked.
that counts...
the keys may only be used from one IP adress at any given time, i think
so you couldn't give it to a friend and play at the same time from different networks

Play at same time with a freind = You log out of the game randomly or this: Your Authentication Key is what identifies you online. It represents your Blockland purchase. Loaning it to people is generally a really bad idea because only one of you can use it at a time.

Before you know it, your "friend" has given it to someone else and they've given it to 10 other people and you can never get online because your key is always in use.

You can only use it from the SAME IP ADRESS LIKE: One key can be used for any number of people as long as they are using the same name and are at the same IP address (ie in the same house).

Keep It only on your computers!! Nerver put it on someone elses! But you can use 3 computers with the same key, Or Do a lan Party.

can you keep it on two of your computers  and what if the computer you had it on broke and you had to move it then what?

For reference, here is an obvious key-sharing:
This key was abusively shared.

It goes on like that for about 600 entries.  Note: 544 is the bl_id, the in-game number is off by one from the internal database.

L@L@M24, I'd appreciate if you'd give me a little credit in the future - I don't do stuff like this for no reason.

If it's going from one computer to another relatively nearby, that is acceptable.

If it's jumping back and forth between Ohio and Israel several times in one day, with the name changing just as frequently, that key is obviously being shared.

Unless you intend to share it, you shouldn't worry about this rule.

Change your firewall settings, silly... :cookieMonster:
