My brother went into it...he's regretted it a lot. He recommended going into Programming or something. But, then again, that's up to you.

I haven't made an official decision on game development, but I have decided on going into a Computer Science & Engineering major, which opens up a lot of options including this.

It's a good field to get into, it's going to be pretty much infinitely expanding as technology increases.
