How is it a "lost cause"? In all truthfulness, you're just one stupid kid who can't figure out why his elders won't give him respect. I'll make it plain and simple. It's your attitude. You think that the world revolves around you, and if you're not getting something of equal or greater value in return for whatever you do, you don't want to do it. It's pusillanimous individual kids like you that are the reason elders treat us like they do. It's whiny complaining kids who are too lazy and pridefull to take a few seconds out of their day to make the world a better place. You're saying that one person can't do anything? Suck it up and be a man.

One perfect example of respect is right here, on these very forums. If you've been on the forums for any length of time, you know respect is a hard thing to get. But look at this. Magick Mage shows up one day and within a week, almost the whole community respects him, if not worships him. Do you know why that is? It's because he showed kindness and compassion to everyone, even if they didn't truely deserve it.

If you want to earn some respect (and I said earn), then distance yourself from the stereotypes of our generation. I don't care if you like to use technology or not, unglue yourself from that screen and have a decent conversation every once in a while. If you're too much of a pusillanimous individual to do that, at least smile and be kind.

I find it so loving ironic that I said in the OP I really don't spend that much time on the computer or my phone which you quite obviously totally disregarded. Mage isn't liked because he's nice to everyone, he's liked because he's a cool guy. I've tried earning their respect all my life. I've finally reached my days where its reached the point that my attitude towards them is totally irrelevant, they'll just not like me for being a teenager. Im not arrogant because I expect equal treatment in return, you were saying earlier to treat them how I want to be treated, be nice to them and Ill get it back, and all of the sudden Im a bad person for that.

Find a way to make your elders look at you in the face. Show them some respect and they'll do the same. Honestly, it's not that hard. Instead of whining, do something about it.

And lastly, what do you know about life? You're a 15 year old kid, barely starting out. Most of these people are already halfway done. They aren't looking for your respect, they've got nothing to respect you for. You don't have any real knowledge they seek, no achievement they're prose of, or no skill they desire. The only way they'll respect you is if you show them that you're deserving of it. Nobody respects prideful brats. Humble yourself and honor them, and they'll give you respect.

Now, I could keep going back and forth with you, but if you are too dense to realize that what I'm saying is true and works for most people, then why am I wasting my time on the bane of my generation? Because I want people to realize that our generation isn't a bunch of aloof tech-junkies who disrespect all authority.
