Author Topic: A reason to not fear death.  (Read 14748 times)

Have you noticed that Buddhists don't often insult Christianity?
Have you noticed that a religion based on peace and controlling your response to the world doesn't respond to other religions?
Have you noticed that a religion based on teaching and spreading your beliefs focuses on spreading their beliefs?

Hmmm I wonder what could be going on here.

Nope.

Fun fact: Atheist archaeologists use the bible to find digging spots because it's so historicly accurate.
Also the bible talks about

Radio waves
Hydrologic cycle
Condensation nuclei
Rotation of the earth
Electrical transmission of information
Blood circulation
Atomic disintegration
Evaporation
Gravitation
Erosion

And that was all in the bible hundreds of years before scientists discovered them.

there is no such thing as "dieing of old age"
people die because of physical traumas or failing body parts.
medical science extends and repairs more and more as the years go on.

soon we may never die at all :D

the myth of afterlife is from ancient people afraid of having meaningless lives. they need to comfort themselves and believe such fairy tales.

soon we may never die at all :D

Wrong; everything breaks down and no matter how hard you try, you're going to die sometime.

the myth of nothing is from newcigarettes who want to comfort themselves with the thought that they can do whatever stuff they want to do

says holy men from the 10th-16th century that didn't even allow the study of medicine, because it was "contrary to the real reason of sickness, god's punishment for sinning"
i see you still enjoy the dark ages of thinking lol. thank you for keeping the world back a lil longer with your ignorance.

while in fact we have extremely extended life every new generation. "middle aged" could easily be considered 60yo someday. and it only improves from there.

new? its been around longer then religion. long before a concept of any gods even was considered.

I'm not afraid of death. I've been dead millions of years before I was born, and I never found it an inconvenience.

Law of Entropy, duh.

Wrong; everything breaks down and no matter how hard you try, you're going to die sometime.

Forgot what that rule's called D: Begins with the P.
It's a rule of physics;
Everything will break down no matter what.

That's why I hope I die while asleep.

So I can't feel pain.
Yeah, I also hope that.

I never really liked Bisjac but now I don't like Qwepir too. Nowadays any thread pertaining to life, death, santa, fairy tales, myths, years, rainbows, hope, obama, greeks, romans, ancient civilizations, suns, moons, and brains also include idiots starting religion wars. Fun fact: Most of these people starting religion wars say something such as "FAITH IS BULLstuff" or "GOD IS MYTH". Funny how they always complain about preaching Christians.

no one questions what happens to a tree when it dies.
whats so hard to understand about the same thing happening to a person?
Trees aren't sentient, idiot.

That's why.

Trees aren't sentient, idiot.

That's why.
Trees having feelings, too. :c

Trees aren't sentient, idiot.

That's why.
even if there is such a thing as a soul, sentient =/= soul
your point makes no sense

even if there is such a thing as a soul, sentient =/= soul
your point makes no sense
If you think there's no such thing as a soul, how do you know the laws governing them?
