Author Topic: Firefox/IE keeps redirecting me.  (Read 2092 times)

I had an anti virus program on my old computer but I forgot what the name of it was. All I remember was that it was red and started with an "M" but it wasn't McAfee.
Malwarebytes?

Ran a full scan, rebooted, and it's still not gone. :C

WOW yeah, I have it, its free its called malwarebytes

This was happening to me yesterday, it's likely a rootkit based malware probably.
Use this http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684, scan with Ad-aware, scan with malwarebytes, and then scan with MRT for good measure. I'm not getting redirected anymore but the pop ups are still happening, don't know what the cause of this is.

Malwarebytes and Ad-aware are both free and great programs, not intrusive at all, straight forward, simple.

Also go into your router settings page (type 192.168.1.1), view setup page and look at the DNS, change the primary and secondary to 0.0.0.0 I haven't actually tried this but I'm pretty sure it should get rid of your troubles.

This not entirely on topic but here:
1. Get malwarebytes
2. Scan
3. Download Google chrome and install it
4. ???
4. Profit!

Wow you totally contributed to the topic!
