Author Topic: No Mic Will Work With Fraps  (Read 1104 times)

I had one microphone that worked with Fraps but it broke today. I've tried all other mics I can find, but none work. This is really annoying. Anyone know a fix?

I'd suggest reinstalling Fraps but I don't know if that'll solve the problem or not.

I suggest buying a new mic .. because it sounds like your all your mics are broken .. unless pulling one out of thin air is an option?

My brother's fancy $50 headphones won't even work. Also, I am on Windows 7.

I assume you meant headset because I don't think you can use headphones as a mic

make sure your microphone option thing is set to .. your microphone, and not Line In or whatever. I had a problem similiar to this once but I don't know if that'll help you any.

my Webcam works fine for a mic.

If you have one laying around try it.

go to FRAPS settings, and under "Sound Input" make sure it says 'microphone' and not 'wave out mix' or anything like that. you might have to check something like 'use windows settings' instead of 'use best settings' or something like that. happened to me once..

Couldn't one just be a caveman and record the video in fraps and the audio in audacity or summat, then put them together in vegas/movie maker?

This could also result in slightly better sound quality I believe.

Check to see if your mics need drivers or something.

Ya, but I want to record a game in full screen and that would just be a pain.

Mic and fraps don't get along well ever since memorycard dumped mic
