Be a man, start with programming in C.

I would definitely start with C if people knew the basics of programming, but sadly, only about 5 out of the 1000+ kids at my school know anything about programming. Among those 5 are myself and my friend that helped me start the club.

Program in assembly.

Remind me again of what assembly is, or rather, to what it's similar, I seem to have completely forgotten. I've heard of it, I just can't remember what it is.

Any other suggestions or thoughts?

In the computer club we had at my high school, all we did was play Starcraft, counterstrike 1.6, quake 3, and SSBB. Then a bunch of weeaboos came in and gayed it all up.

Now there's something I didn't think of, gaming. Although I doubt my school would let us do that, unfortunately. :(

Low level code specific to the machine. It's where you are dealing with the induvidual bits of data and telling the computer where to store them and how to organize it's calculations and such.

That's what I thought it was, and we may possibly do that, if people are up for it.

Java.

I did mention we'd be doing Java in the OP, but thank you for the suggestion.

Any others?
