Author Topic: Chrome "HTTPS" Problem  (Read 1431 times)

When I try to sign into Hotmail, Chrome tells me the page is unsecure, or something.

I tell it to proceed anyway, and it brings me to the sign in URL.
Except the entire page is blank.

And the https in the URL looks like this -

Chrome said the same thing for two other sites, but it still let me sign in.

And could someone else try to sign in, to make sure it isn't just me?

Meh, I dont use hotmail...

But heres an I idea if you never are able to log in again.

If you want you can use like gmail to import hotmail so you dont have to change email addresses if you switch.

BTW, this exact same thing happens with my Email on pecon7.com

Its a stupid shared SSL that makes the browser think that you are getting re-requested.

But I'm trying to recover my BL key from an email on Hotmail.

How did you fix it?

Cant, I just need to adjust my settings so that I don't use SSL.

Example of the problem, is this whats wrong?: https://pecon7.com:2096/

this.

Then it would be easier for me to talk with you using email.

You lost your key? and use FireFox to sign in.

No, I am re-installing Blockland, and I don't have my key memorized.

I had to clear my entire HDD the other day.

Also I might just use IE.
stuff, same thing with IE too.

IE is bad. Just use Firefox, anything besides IE.

All browsers nowadays freak out at re-redirected SSL connections.

Well it was already installed.

Does it do the same thing when you do this?

Same message.

By the way, this is what the message says.

This is probably not the site you are looking for!
You attempted to reach pecon7.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as *.sgcpanel.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of pecon7.com. You should not proceed.
But then I clicked Proceed Anyway, just as I did with Hotmail, and it still worked.

All I can say is if you can disable SSL on your hotmail account, do it.

Otherwise: If you want you can use like gmail to import hotmail so you dont have to change email addresses if you switch.

Ahhhhhhhhhstuff.

I just figured out my problem.

I looked at Technical Details with Firefox, and it said

login.live.com uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate will not be valid until 10/4/2010 8:00 PM.

(Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate)
This was caused because I set the date back before August 2008, to play OE Cake.

Now I feel stupid.
