I wonder what Blockland will look like in 10 years...
It would be interesting to log-on when I'm like 30 or something, if the game is still around.
As would I.
Would Blockland still be functioning then? It really depends on other developments in gaming etc.
For example, if a company created a "futuristic" version of Blockland (As in - Future graphical advances- ) which was cheaper, more fun and was overly better, the whole game would become nondescript and would fall into decline. However, as Aphtonites said, the weapons have developed over time, scripts have changed and after 3 years, the game still keeps going, with 25,000+ registered users despite the likes of newer internet games, Lego's ridiculously overpriced yet awesome universe and suchlike...
I have to agree with the events thing. When I first played Blockland, events just didn't exist. All the meagre commands we all take for granted in the 'GUI' were scripted and not done much. I purchased the game just after events came, and I can remember the way a lot of people came onto servers and asked how to centreprint, or spawn a projectile...Now all too easy.
10 years may be pushing it, but if Blockland does survive another decade, it would have changed so much that only the basic outline of the original game still survived...
Can't wait :D
