Source is just a better engine than the version of the Torque engine Blockland currently runs on.

Tom

Source is just a better engine than the version of the Torque engine Blockland currently runs on.
Source also cost a ton of money to license.

Heres a stupid idea :Badspot should try and buy torque.
Maybe that was too stupid.

I'm not exactly sure how the Torque Engine for Blockland would be affected if no one bought the company besides a lack of engine updates, but what I wonder: What engine would Badspot convert Blockland to if he had to and also had a decent sum of money?

Badspot doesn't get torque engine updates. He's using an old version. He makes changes to it himself.

Then all add-ons would have to be remade to be compatible.
V9 all over again.

Ah, ok. Wait, why doesn't he get the updates? Would he have to pay for them? Or would they break the essence/functionality of Blockland?

Because he made so many changes to it that the game would be horridly broken if he updated it.

It's really not worth all the hassle just for a few new classes that he doesn't even like and would probably remove, and a few fixes he already fixed himself.

I was under the impression that Badspot worked for them?

If he is on a job hunt, the future development of BL could be impacted.

Does this mean the the engine will become freeware or abandonware?

Does this mean the the engine will become freeware or abandonware?
Neither. They're selling the rights to the engine to whoever is willing to buy it.

The buyer is responsible for development, distribution, and licensing.

It'd be funny If Nexon got their hands on it.
