Don't waste your time Robo, most of these people are ignorant to lucid dreaming and actually think Inception is an accurate portrayal.
Of course shared dreaming isn't the same. But everyone here has a very black and white trail of thought, and nobody here is able to understand the possibility of such a phenomenon, because they won't think beyond what they already know and won't accept anything that sounds slightly strange.
I had a shot at it with a few people. It took months, every time I'd try and find the person in the dream world it just wouldn't work. But then one night this happened...
I was on a bus. I suddenly got the urge to jump and and dive into the water below the bridge we were on. I swam over to land, where there was a settlement. Lots oh huts and tents and things. There was a big forest to the left, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I walked around the settlement and found the two people I was looking for. Although, I also annoyed one of the others at the settlement. The two people I was trying to share dreams with "kidnapped" me. They took me to my house and dropped me off, oddly. Then said goodbyte.
So anyway I didn't have a chance to contact them online as I had to leave early. While I was at school about mid day, I got a message from one of them. They said they had found me. So I went online and checked their dream journal (for those of you who aren't aware, a dream journal is a documentation of dreams in story or diary format that allows people to find patterns or discover dream signs for the purposes of lucid dreaming, usually) and their perception of the dream was astounding. They wrote about finding me at this hut place, and how the kidnapping to them was trying to take me away from the settlement as I "wasn't suppose to be there" and was angering the others. But it was the details they described, such as the forest. And how they wrote about taking me home, but weren't sure why they did as it was a dream. I was very stunned at this, and just as excited.
Do I think shared dreaming is 100% real? I dunno. Would I go around recommending it to my friends? Probably not. But due to the above experience, I am certainly happy to try again and stay well and truly open to the idea.
