Game runing slow?

I'm sure you're all sick by now watching me make so many help and support threads, but this time I have found the main problem, and once solved, it will (hopefully) fix all of my Gmod problems.

I'm currently having a problem updating my display driver.
I currently have an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, Display driver version 6.14 etc..
The newest version is 7.2 but I could only find it for my card under the Windows Vista section - Integrated/Motherboard.

Problem is, I'm running Windows XP pro.
I've tried using the vista installer, but everytime it goes through the setup process and I restart my computer, my dxdiag and windows system info files still say I have version 6.14 etc.
Please help me since I don't know if I'm using the wrong installer, or if i'm installing it in the wrong place.

I've also contacted Gary and he gave me this installer, which I've also tried but with no luck.

Saying "English?" doesn't help at all.
But updating your drives will do wonders.
But I can't update em for the reason stated above.

Try using the xpress 1150 drivers for xp or contacting ati.

On a related note, the amd/ati machines that we had at GDC used dual X1950 pro's and ran Blockland like stuff.  There's something wrong with the drivers and we're working with amd/ati to figure out what it is.

Do I need to have OpenGL installed in order for blockland to run properly?
And let's say I didn't have OpenGL installed, would Blockland have still played fine without it?
Or is OpenGL one of those things you don't need to install?
