Author Topic: Game runing slow?  (Read 6685 times)

Well, since Badspot is't asnwering my email I'll just post this here.

I play on a laptop.
My brother plays on a desktop.

My brother bought blockland the other day and we decided to have a LAN game, so I host and I decide to load up titanic.

What happeneds is, he is basicly brick - lag free, while my game slows down by ALOT and frame rate drops down to like 3 when I look at the titanic. His frame rate is at 45 and he is having no problem.

This has been happening on other servers too when people have alot of bricks.
Please help me.  :panda:

I have attached the dxdiag files of both computers.
Also, before you say it, yes, I have updated my graphic drives.

Generally, laptops have sucky GFC cards, that PC most likely can't handle it.

Did you even look at the dxdiag files?
My laptop has an ATI Radeon Xpress 1100, and can run BF2, and BF2142.
The desktop has an integrated that can hardly run BF1942

Nevermind, Badspot mentioned it took around 300MB of ram, but you have 800+.

Make sure anti-aliasing is disabled in your graphics cards control panel
Set the anisotropy slider in Blockland's advanced options to 0
Lower your resolution
Switch to medium or low texture quality.

The resolution fixed it, thanks  :cookie:
I've been having some weird problems lately due to resolution.

Actually no it didn't..I thought it did.
It did fix some of it but not completely.
I remember I did something this morning in Blockland that sky rocketed my FPS to 158, but I can't seem to do it again.
Also, how do I completely turn off Anti aliasing in my CCC?

BUMP
(sorry for double post but this problem is really bugging me)
Please help.

Set the anisotropy slider in Blockland's advanced options to 0
Lower your resolution
Switch to medium or low texture quality.

I did all of that, I updated everything I possibly could.
And there is no way for me to absolutely turn off anti-aliasing, I can only put it to the minimum.
Come on Badspot, don't let down your fans, please help.

We had this problem with a laptop at the office where it would overheat when playing the game and that would cause it to slow down so that it could cool off.  Is the game slow all the time or does it go ok for a while and then suddenly become slow?  Do you hear the laptop's fans go faster?

It's not that...
It only goes slow when I look at about 11 thousand bricks all at once, and no the fans don't go faster at all.
one question: does this game run with DirectX or OpenGL?
I noticed when running google earth with OpenGL it was quite slow at times.

Blockland uses openGL

Blockland uses openGL

anyway to maybe make it work with directX?
because I think the problem is with OpenGL, my graphic card doesn't seem to like it.
I have updated it and the processor too, but the game still slows down when looking at alot of bricks all at once.

There used to be D3D on Blockland Beta but I don't know where its gone, my Friends computer would hissy Fit on Blockland if he had it set to OpenGL so he used D3D and it worked fine.

Where it go BS?
