I don't know anybody that does.

Online dating is really stupid. I can understand having feelings for somebody, regardless of the distance between the two, but when they try and escalate the situation to be "dating", it's ridiculous.

You can't kiss them, you can't hug them, and you can't be with them face to face. The most you can do is talk about how much you "love" each other and talk about love you'll never have. Seriously, if all you can do is chat through some instant messenger, don't even bother. Just go for nudes.

Although, friendships online are totally acceptable.

Visual. Just being a smartass.

I actually, seriously did just that. Found a girl who acts just like me, down to the random annoying ass Self Delete talk. We actually started Self Delete talking each other at the same time. It was epically horrible.
I actually did too, I just found it funny that you can find things like that on the internet.

That or she was a professional liar.

At first I thought you meant dating sites. Those are good
Yeah, last summer I pretended to have an online gf, but we know each other in real life and planned the whole thing to trick a few friends

:panda: You don't like me?
I like love and physical relations, which cannot be obtained in a relationship with strange kids that're younger than me on the internet. :P

Dating Crumpet is like an internet relationship while actually being able to hold each other and be with each other. All of the conversation and caring and discussion, too. (oh yeah and internetz lululul) It's amazing. <3

the thing that annoys me the most is that at school, kids think they're dating people, yet they're not.

Well no because my best friend Tyler Minney and his GF are going to.....

So..? Okay cool. High schoolers are have been whores now for a while. Does that mean people are dating prostitutes?

Read Chrono's post - the difference between online dating and a long distance relationship is just that. Online dating refers to when you have no intention of meeting the person face to face or are just too much of a lazy prick to do it. Whereas a long distance relationship is where you both are willing to go the distance (dohoho) to see each other.

I've been an online dater, it's a stuffty feeling. I've had a few local girlfriends and frankly 90% of women are cheap whores. Think of the long distance like a trial to ensure that the two of you are actually going to put the effort in to make things work, that you both care at least to some extent.

However the better way is to plan to see each other without being in a relationship beforehand. Saves you all the humiliation and heartache and removes the obligation not to forget everything that moves. Plus when you do get together there'll be less feelings-talk and more random loving at first. Then comes the feelings-talk and then comes them leaving so you go back to doing what you were doing before.

Having someone who's coming to see you/you're going to see is a lot like a part time job, really. You have a girlfriend in a way but the "pay" isn't as good and you don't have to deal with her stuff every day.
