Obviously you should download less gay research
Coming from you.
K.

My computer likes to turn off while playing games. It's most likely my power supply.

My computer would do that when playing YouTube videos.
After a while of it happening, the power supply started sparking and smoking.
I bought a new one, same thing happened.
Be careful. :U!

If you are getting graphical problems and get video card driver errors, I'd say the cause is obvious.

I took the card out and it had dust on the thing that actually plugs into the slot on the motherboard, so I wiped that off and put it back in. It hasn't crashed yet, so perhaps that was the problem?

Most people just put their computers on standby witch is bad I fried my computer on standby mode try to turn it off and back on when you need to you probably fried your powersupply or your monitor is forgeted up.

My computer;
1. Backs up a valuable file
2. Deletes that file
3. Gives me a blue-screen restart error
4. Restarts
5. Preloads that valuable file
6. Runs perfectly

but still, you'll need a better computer, or just a new one. It's most probably adware.

Nope, card still dead. Is there any way to salvage it?

Sadly not. When a card dies like this, it's most likely not coming back.

What kind of card was it, anyway?

Nvidia GeForce 7600 I believe? Why would it die like this?

Too much use, possibly. That, or cheap components.
Plus, that card's pretty old (4 years).
