FunFact:
One of the many crusades was named the Children's Crusade.  A group of about 5,000 young teenagers went out unarmed with no money to the Holy Lands to take it back.  A very nice ship owner decided he would let them get a ride from Italy to Jerusalem.

But he lied.

He shipped them to North Africa and sold them into slavery.
