Author Topic: My computer forgeted up (STOP: 0x8E)  (Read 930 times)

The problem started out a few hours after a power surge when my EAX Console broke on my sound card. I tried doing a web update, which gave me a corrupt error report and a STOP:0x8E BSoD, I restarted my computer. I then tried repairing the drivers through my (scratched) driver disk, but it only installed Creative MediastuffSource, and still has corrupt drivers. My dad reinstalled the drivers using Device Manager. It was (seemingly) better. Next day, I turned it on and when I tried to log on, it loaded, then it gave me a Hardware Failure BSoD. I am now forced to A) Get a new soundcard B) Be tortured to use my home server C) All of the above.

My sound card is a Creative SB Audigy 2, should I get a new one?

Get a new soundcard. It's not that expensive. I think extern sound"cards" are even cheaper.

I use Trust's Extern Soundcard;

lovey, and I use a 5.1 speaker system with those jacks. Thank you!

I still want to get a sound card that Dell supports on my XPS Gen 3(Especially one of those new Creative SoundBlasters, I LOVE EAX)
